PSTDC 1 - From Fleece to Felt

Last week I attended the first of six weekends of the 'Practical Skills Teachers Development Course' (PSTDC) which is organised by Pyrites - Living and Learning with Nature. It was based on the transformation process from sheep's wool through to washing, dying, carding and on to felting. Part of the course is how these craft processes help develop our senses and exploring how this has an impact on child development! Very inspiring...

Cotswold Way, Gloucestershire

The last two weekends we explored a few kilometres of the  'Cotswold Way'  in Gloucestershire. It was spectacular on both occasions as the first visit near Hailes Abbey was affected by a mixture of mist and sun and the second trip near Haresfield Beacon was covered in snow! I got very inspired by the idea of this long distance trail, that I am now considering walking the whole trail at some point! It is 164 km long in total and runs from Chipping Camden in the north of the Cotswolds to Bath Abbey in the south. Watch this space...
