As mentioned in my previous post, together with my
students, I’ve been making and building various bits and pieces for our Woodcraft area. We erected the ‘Mike Abbott Shelters’ and made a few Saw
Horses. We renovated a couple of old Shaving Horses and are in the process of
branding tree name signs. For the colder winter months we will be
developing an ‘indoor’ stove and seating area inside the barn... Making good
progress and great to have daily open fires again!

Woodcraft @ RMC, 01: intro to my workshop area
These first few weeks are all about redeveloping the
Woodcraft area and workshop space. Woodcraft is part of the Woodland Centre at the college. This beautiful corner of the woodlands has not
been used much for the last four years or so, which means there is lots of
tidying and sorting to do. I’ll be erecting some shelters and making some
equipment and resources too!

Ruskin Mill College
This week I’m starting my new job as a Woodcraft & Woodland Management Tutor at
Ruskin Mill College in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. The college is set in 140 acres of beautiful valley- and hillside woodlands, farmland and pastureland with streams and
fishponds. There are many craft and practical skills workshops. I’ll be developing my woodland based workshop area over the next few weeks...

Playground, garden & fence design and work
Below are some playground, garden and fence designs and work I undertook for various projects I've been involved with recently. I enjoy exploring what is needed for a particular area and its intended use, developing ideas around this and then building and crafting the concepts!
