Metalwork Curriculum - Tin

As part of the Metalwork Curriculum pupils learn about tin casting and the various processes involved in this. Both carving out of a cuttlefish bone as well as lost wax casting are great ways to explore these ancient traditions shaping metal.

Metalwork Curriculum - Copper

Pupils in Class IX have been learning to work with Copper. It is a very 'forgiving' metal and belongs to the seven ancient metals which were known to humans until the middle of the 19th century. Beating a bowl from sheet-copper and the various stages to go through, teaches a number of different aspects about processes of metalwork as well as chemistry.

Cotswold Way, Section 5

Another day on the Cotswold Way - Section 5: 8.9 km from Cleeve Hill to Dowdeswell Reservoir. We have almost done a third of the 164 km route!
