Pupils in Class IX have been learning to work with Copper. It is a very 'forgiving' metal and belongs to the seven ancient metals which were known to humans until the middle of the 19th century. Beating a bowl from sheet-copper and the various stages to go through, teaches a number of different aspects about processes of metalwork as well as chemistry.
